The Blairgowrie Business Focus Group is holding a meeting next week to help shape the future of the business community in the east Perthshire town.

The meeting, which takes place in St Catharine’s Hall on George Street at 5.30pm on Monday, 20th April, is open to anyone that runs a business or a shop in Blairgowrie town centre and will provide an opportunity to connect with other business owners and share ideas.

The Business Focus Group, run by Blairgowrie and Rattray Development Trust (BRDT), coordinates events and activities to support local businesses and brings local businesses together to discuss concerns in the town.

Local business woman Laura Gardiner is the BRDT trustee leading the Blairgowrie Business Focus Group.

Encouraging people to attend the meeting, she said: “Whether you’re an established business or just getting started, your voice matters.

“It has been really encouraging to see some new shops and businesses opening up in Blairgowrie town centre in recent weeks and months, and we firmly believe that by supporting the business sector in a coordinated, sustainable and holistic way it will have a positive impact for the whole community.

“The Business Focus Group became part of BRDT last year and since then we have run the BRAW Windows of Blair event in conjunction with the It’s BRAW! Festival, coordinated the late-night opening event to coincide with the Christmas Lights switch-on event, represented local businesses at various events and meetings, and much more.

“If that is the sort of thing you would like to be involved in, or if you have any ideas and suggestions for how to further enhance the business offering in Blairgowrie, or if you can help support the Business Focus Group to support our businesses, then please come along on Monday evening.

“Be part of the conversation and let’s work together to support and strengthen Blairgowrie and Rattray.”

Refreshments will be available.
