Community energy production
We need to take advantage of local energy producion opportunities both to provide cheaper energy but also raise income for the town.
Hydro scheme on the river.
Solar panel arrays.
Function space
We currently only have the Angus Hotel with a function room and bar and perhaps the Golf Club.
Increase tourism area on LDP
Current LDP2 only has Holiday Park marked for tourism.
Could include:
- Thomsons berry fields/Ashgrove
- Ecotourism
- Salmon fishing
- walking - local path network
Wider attractions:
- Beech Hedge
- Cleaven Dyke
- Muirton
Make more of heritage
Keathbank Mill Museum was popular.
Items to include
- families of yesteryear
- mills & berry heritage

- Heritage walk/trail
Social enterprise cafe
Offering employability, learning and growing skills to staff and volunteers, with a particular focus on supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health concerns.
Use of allotment space or community garden to grow produce to be used in cafe.
Sports & Activities Centre
A hub with the following activities:
Indoor:
- Climbing area
- Pickle ball
- Soft play
- Children's parties
- Bowling
- Gym for younger people
Outdoor
- Padel tennis
- Running/athletics track
- MUGA at Rattray Primary school
Town consumption garden, community gardens and allotments
Growing more food locally.
