We are updating the survey details and adding filters as we go - below we will be adding the simple list of all comments from the surveys as they are compiled.
Suggestions based by location: Riverside
Here are the suggested ideas for Riverside:
Bistro bar or cafe
More cafes with parking and pram/disable friendly.
Cafe by river where you can sit and have a coffee or meal.
Cafe open in the evening.
Increase tourism area on LDP
Current LDP2 only has Holiday Park marked for tourism.
Could include:
- Thomsons berry fields/Ashgrove
- Ecotourism
- Salmon fishing
- walking - local path network
Wider attractions:
- Beech Hedge
- Cleaven Dyke
- Muirton
Open up riverside beyond Oakbank steps
This item was also in the CAP.
Landscaping activitiy to remove the current steps, support the old landslip and open up the view further upstream and allowing wheelchair users access. Also provide a footbridge at this spot to connect to Riverside Drive.

Outdoor fitness equipment
We have some at the riverside but this could be expanded
Parkrun
A parkrun would attract more people to the town but recognise locating it is very difficult but it could be part of a new development.
River management
Natural wetland, floodplain and river management.
Riverside Trail
Continue the development of the Riverside Trail with figures of Donald Cargill and Dragoons leading the way to Cargills Leap and make more of the river.
