The Cinnamon Trust supports older people and those living with a terminal illness by recruiting local volunteers who are able to offer all kinds of pet care.
We recently recruited a few new volunteers to The Cinnamon Trust but would like more local volunteers to be available to help support residents of Blairgowrie and their delightful dogs.
These volunteers would help older or terminally ill dog owners keep their pets with them for as long as possible, which is wonderful as they are often the only companionship an elderly person might have.
Volunteers would be 16 or over, and can be working/attending college/university or in Senior year at school. After a recent appeal, a few new additional volunteers contacted the Cinnamon Trust, which is a heart warming response, although more volunteers are very welcome!
You would become part of a small team of volunteers walking on a rota basis to suit your availability, the aim being that the dogs get a good walk several times a week.
Many elderly or ill pet owners worry about their ability to provide proper care for their animals and start looking to rehome what may be their only companion. This is where our national network of dedicated volunteers step in to offer support enabling them to stay together.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer have a look at our website for details about the trust and what we do www.cinnamon.org.uk you can also complete and submit our volunteer registration form through the web site or email us at [email protected] If you would like to have a more in-depth chat about becoming a volunteer, please call us during office hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) on 01736 758 701
We look forward to hearing from you.
