Scottish Hospitality Awards - Best Caravan Site!

Blairgowrie Holiday Park (Wood Leisure), a local family business from Perthshire, beat off some stiff competition last Monday night (13th June) and were crowned Best Caravan Site of the Year at the Scottish Hospitality Awards held in the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow. The strong competition included fantastic entries from Pine Trees Leisure Park, Sands of Luce Holiday Park and Belhaven Bay Caravan & Camping Park. The Wood family and park managers took to the stage to collect their prize from award winning radio presenter Gina McKie. Margaret Wood, Owner of Wood Leisure Holiday Parks said: 

We are absolutely ecstatic to have won this award, our team and family have worked extremely hard over the years and we’re delighted it has paid off. Our category had some extremely tough competition which has made the win extra special. Thank you to all our loyal customers who nominated us.”

The family started the business over 30 years ago when Colin & Margaret purchased Blairgowrie Holiday Park in 1981. With the foresight to develop a top quality, all year round holiday business, they invested heavily in the park. The Woods then extended their portfolio with the purchases of four further sites including; Lomond Woods Holiday Park, Loch Lomond in 1994, Corriefodly Holiday Park, Perthshire in 2000, Deeside Holiday Park, Aberdeenshire in 2008 and finally Campsie Glen Holiday Park, Stirlingshire in 2010, all five parks are branded under the Wood Leisure name.

Over the last 35 years of Blairgowrie Holiday Park being owned and managed by the Wood family, it has gone through huge development and upgrading projects to make it the ‘5 star’ holiday park it is today. Providing a range of accommodation options from deluxe hot tub lodges, self-catering caravan holiday homes, touring and motorhome pitches – there is a holiday experience for all! Holiday home ownership opportunities are also available, allowing customers the freedom to enjoy holidays throughout the year at their leisure.
