This photograph is possibly from the early-mid 1930s. Work on the primary department of Blairgowrie had not begun and the site to the right of the bridge on the Rattray site is vacant. This site is where the Regal Cinema opened in 1938. The primary department did not open until after the end of WWII, although it was begun before the start of the war. The mills, railway station and the gasometer, can be clearly seen, sadly they are all long gone. Read More >

The church building as we know it was begun in 1901 and opened its doors on 19 June 1902. At that time it was known as St Andrew's United Free Church. In 1929 it became St Andrew's Church of Scotland. Read More >

Druidsmere House is located on the right hand side of the road, between Darkfaulds and Carsie, when leaving Blairgowrie by the Perth Road. It cannot be seen from the Perth Road but can be seen from the White Loch in the winter months when the leaves are off the trees. Read More >
