Stagecoach East Scotland Perth network changes update

Stagecoach have thanked customers for their comments and suggestions during a recent consultation regarding potential changes to the Perth & Kinross local bus network
The company recently asked customers, staff and stakeholders for feedback after it published details of potential plans to revise local bus services in the area.
Stagecoach are now digesting all the comments received, analysing the feedback and are making adjustments to proposals as a result.
The changes to the network are designed to improve the long term sustainability of the network and will focus on improving reliability and addressing revised demand for routes.
Stagecoach have been working with Perth & Kinross Council’s Public Transport Unit, discussing both commercial routes and those operated under contract to the Council. A number of proposals have already been revised as part of these ongoing discussions and these proposals were also presented to local councillors a number of weeks ago.
Paul Thomas, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: "Our consultation process has provided us with some great feedback we can use to help shape our network for the future so we're really grateful to the large number of customers and staff who took the time to consider our proposals and provide useful suggestions.
"I appreciate that changes can be disruptive to our regular customers, however they are necessary to maintain a quality public transport network in the area, within a challenging economic climate. We need to make sure we can offer a sustainable and reliable network of services long term, for those who rely on our buses and coaches.
"In particular, thanks to comments on our proposals from residents in the Oakbank area in Perth and following further discussions with Perth & Kinross Council we have revised our 7 / 7A proposal which we believe will address the concerns raised."
Stagecoach continue to look at the comments and suggestions received during the consultation period and will communicate any confirmed changes in the coming weeks. It is expected, due to the period of time required to go through all the feedback received, that the date of any changes to the network will be pushed back a week to 20 November 2017.
Mr Thomas added: "Our team are hard at work adapting our proposals and will be spending the next few weeks creating public timetables, driver and vehicle schedules, with all changes announced in the coming weeks."
