Hill Kirk Graveyard Tidy Up
1 October 2018
With the weather fine and an enthusiastic group, a great deal of work was completed on the tidy up of the graveyard at the Hill Kirk, Kirk Wynd, Blairgowrie.
This iconic graveyard has unfortunately not been kept tidy for some years. However with the Blairgowrie & Rattray Access Network, BRAN, working alongside keen neighbours in the street and the Genealogy group in Blairgowrie, an immense improvement in the graveyard has begun. The group were also ably assisted by P&K Ranger, Alistair McLeod.
There is much further work to be done, but a strong will has been generated to see the work through, then ahead with the upkeep. The goal is to create a clean, tidy and easily accessible graveyard, which will represent the town in a better manner than before.
Family members travel from across the world to visit the graves of their ancestors, and it will be nice for them to find the graves more easily and also enjoy a lovely view across Blair and beyond.
If anyone wishes to assist with the project, you can contact the Genealogy group at the Library or email firstname.lastname@example.org
