PatPART FOUR -PAT McCARTHY 6.30 a.m. - The alarm goes off, oh no! Do I really have to get up, I'm supposed to be retired. Yes, I do. Pat Richards PART TWO The Secretary /’Book Person’ Story

Arrive in shop 9 40 am. Look for out of date notices in the window, remove ready for filing for History Trust. Check bins and pail for leaky roof. Switch on the lights and till, put out the Haggis (for kind donations). Joy arrives and helps me put the books and signs outside. Check the Daily Diary for messages and the Book Requests Book for new additions to look out for. Book Donors due to pick up books - they take those which we cannot sell in the shop or are not suitable to be sent to Malawi (which we do via another group in Blairgowrie) so finish packing boxes ready for uplift. Laura has sorted donated books for me to put away in the store - will do that later. First things first.  Read More >

Do I walk to the office or take the car? Have a heavy bag of papers notes etc and it is raining – no question , the car it is. Then try to find a parking place – this could be another problem worth tackling for this town at some time in the future? Hmm  Read More >
